The Mansfield Democratic Town Committee endorsed the slate of candidates in June following nine meetings of its Nominating Committee this spring to interview people interested in running for office. In the wake of last November’s presidential election, the DTC saw a wave of interest and enthusiasm from newcomers and veterans alike. Of the 21 nominated:
- Eleven candidates will be new to the office they are seeking if elected in November.
- Twelve of the candidates are women.
- Nine candidates are running for the first time for any office.
- Of these nine first-time candidates, seven are women.
